I'm Movin On

2013 Motto
"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."
 - George Bernard Shaw

This year is all about transformation. Why? I'm going to be a mom. That changes everything! It's an exciting and scary feeling at the exact same time. I mean how am I supposed to be a good mom when I have so much "baggage"? You would think I'd be over things that happened 5, 10, or 15 years ago, but I'm not. I've subconsciously enjoyed torturing myself for years. You would think I would have a handle on my anxiety more so than I do, but I don't.
Well, enough is enough.

In order for me to have a great marriage, be a good mom, and maintain relationships with family and friends, I need to LET GO of shiz. I need to work on my anxiety. I need to live life to its fullest.
That's right. No more anger. No more resentment. No more fear.
I can't change the past and I can't worry about the future either.

I'm very thankful for music. I love all kinds of music, especially country.
Country music can be personal. I can relate to songs. There's a story behind them, a meaning... there's passion. And every now and then, I hear a song that inspires me, like last night.

My husband bought me the Rascal Flatts CD for Christmas. Yes, I still use CD's. My iPod was recently stolen from my unlocked car thank you very much. It's fitting that I stumbled upon this song as I was driving home. I posted the lyrics for those who don't like country music. If you're in a tough spot in your life, I dedicate this song to you.

Rascal Flatts - I'm Movin On

Lyrics

"I'm Moving On"

I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I've found you find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I'm movin' on

I've lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they're always the same
They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it
They'll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong
I'm movin' on

I'm movin' on
At last I can see life has been patiently waiting for me
And I know there's no guarantees, but I'm not alone
There comes a time in everyone's life
When all you can see are the years passing by
And I have made up my mind that those days are gone

I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I'm movin' on

I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on

Are there any songs you connect to right now?

  1. I've lived in this place and I know all the faces

So this is what you meant about some people getting about what you are talking about and some people not lol... Thanks for the post and the lyrics, they definitely resonate with me :)
